The second of three Crew/Supply Vessels, M/V Holston River was delivered to Trico Marine, Inc. of Houma, Louisiana by Gulf Craft, LLC on December, 2002. The Holston River measures 155' x 28' and features the following capacities: 24,000 gallons of fuel, 31,500 gallons of drill/potable water, 1,500 gallons of ship's water, 250 gallons of main engine lube oil, 120 gallons of gear lube oil, 76 gallons of hydraulic oil, and waste oil capacity of 250 gallons. Aft deck space measures 88' x 22' providing 1,958 sq. ft. of loading area and deck cargo capacity of 250 long tons.
The vessel is powered by five Cummins KTA-38-M2 diesel engines rated at 1,350 BHP @ 1950 RPM and each coupled with a Twin Disc, model MG-6650-SC, 2.46:1 reduction ratio gear. Each engine turns a four blade Nibral propeller providing a light ship speed of 28 knots and fully loaded speed of 23 knots. Maneuverability is enhanced with the Wesmar 200 HP tunnel thruster, which is powered by a Cummins 6CTA8.3-M1 diesel engine. Twin 75KW Cummins 6BT5.9-D(M) generators supply electrical power for the vessel's services.
The M/V Holston River is capable of discharging drill water at 300 GPM @ 220 ft. and fuel oil at a rate of 300 GPM @ 220 ft. In addition to servicing offshore facilities, the M/V Holston River has fire fighting capabilities to pump 1,000 GPM via the stern fire monitor.
Passenger accommodations include 78 bucket reclining seats in the air conditioned main deck cabin. The passenger compartment is equipped with one 32" television for passenger entertainment. Located aft of the passenger seating area on the port side are the two heads with lavatory and toilet and passenger club seating located opposite side of the head.
Air conditioned crew accommodations below the main deck cabin include five staterooms, a bathroom, galley, and mess area. Two of the five staterooms have one berth with clothes locker and a TV with VCR. The remaining staterooms have two berths and one clothes locker per stateroom. The head is located in the forward section of the crews' quarters and is arranged with a lavatory, toilet and shower. The galley is equipped with an electric range/oven, sink, one refrigerator/freezers, food pantry and mess area with a split table booth seating arrangement and TV/VCR for the crews entertainment. The clothes washer and dryer and an additional chest freezer are located in the forward void compartment just forward of the galley/mess area.
Navigational and electronic equipment aboard the M/V Holston River include one Garmin GPS, dual Furuno radars, three Standard Horizon VHF radios, one Furuno single side band radio, loudhailer by Raymarine, Navtex Receiver by JRC, depth recorder by Furuno, encoder/decoder by Necode Electronics, camera monitoring system by Pro Video, stereo/cassette player by Seaworthy, two forward search lights and one aft search light by Carlisle Finch and navigation lights by Perko.
